Non Profit Organizations:

IMOM.Org: Helping people help pets. To better the lives of sick, injured and abused companion animals. We are dedicated to insure that no companion animal has to be euthanized simply because their caretaker is financially challenged. Since 1998 hundreds of companion animals have been spared from euthanasia with financial aid from IMOM. In excess of $220,000 has been paid out for non routine veterinary care through May 2002. Is there anyway you can help??

Action for Animals in Distress Society: A shelter operated by a fellow pet sitter that does fabulous work in the Vancouver area. Please visit their site to see the animals available for adoption, and to donate. Action rescues many animals that would otherwise be euthanized by the SPCA. I have one of the kitties myself. See Newmann's photo.

The Royal City Humane Society, New Westminster, British Columbia: I volunteer at this shelter and they do a fantastic job with their kitties. Check them out. They are a no kill shelter, most of the cats are fostered out until they can find a permanent home. The dedication of the volunteers is above and beyond. Also look at their items they have for sale...cat/dog guardian angel pins for only 5.00.

Cats:

Cat Fancy Publications: Who doesn't know this magazine..okay..maybe a dog lover. (haha). Tons of information, polls and contests to enter. Also listings of all future cat shows.

Cat Stuff: This is a great site, and where I borrowed most of my graphics. You will find an excellent selection of graphics, a library, message board, cat cartoons, photos..and much much more!

KittySite.com: Another great source of information. KittySite provides us with great links to almost any cat topic you can think of.

Feline Diabetes Message Board: I recommend this site to any of my clients that are dealing with Feline Diabetes. This is a great companion to working with your cat and your vet. My cat Katie had diabetes for 5 years...and I don't know if I would have made it through it without the loving support of everyone at this site.

Care for my Cat: Care for my Cat was designed as a resource for cat owners who wish to know more about the proper care and treatment of domestic felines. This site provides important information about the many different aspects of life with a pet cat.

Zen Dogs is a local Doggy Day Care. Located on the Burnaby/New West border Zen Dogs provides your faithful companion with tender loving care. With services that include, bathing, massage, hikes, and boarding. Definitely a place to check out when you are concerned about leaving man's best friend!

Pet Sitters International: This site accommodates pet sitters from all over the world. They have just over 5000 members and are growing strong. If you don't live in Canada, you can type in your locations, and hopefully find a qualified professional pet sitter near you.
